The Blessings of Singleness: Faithfully Embracing This Fruitful Season!
“And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit.”
1 Corinthians 7:34
Society and the church has often made singles feel like something is wrong with us and that our lives have not started until we are in a relationship. or married. Singleness does not always feel the best and it is most certainly not always easy. but it has some AMAZING benefits! I mean, have you ever sat down and made a list of ALL of the amazing things you can do for the Lord, yourself, and others while you are single?
Do you know your purpose? Your life mission, vision, values, calling, and seasonal assignment? What are your gifts, talents, and strengths that God wants you to use for the Kingdom? If you haven’t already, it’s time to get busy for the Lord. If you need some help doing that, check out my Holistic Self-Discovery Guide: https://www.haveaseat.blog/blog/mind-body-amp-soul-wellness-a-guide .
If you’re like me, you have a love/hate relationship with singleness. I get it. I’ve been single since birth and it has NOT been a cakewalk. BUT, I am grateful for all of the wisdom, discernment, and other ways God has grown me. I have had amazing experiences, met wonderful people, and I know God’s plan for my life is beyond what I could plan for myself.
Sis, I want to encourage you with this: you will not get this time nor this season back should the Lord send you an amazingly godly husband. Maximize this time and season NOW for yourself and God’s Kingdom. Singleness will not always feel the best, but it really has some amazing benefits!
So, here is a super long list of lots of things you can be doing and enjoying RIGHT now in your single season!!!
FREEDOM!!! Your own time. Your own money. Sleep when you want to! Do what you want, when, where, and how you want. And you don’t have to ask or inform anyone to do anything.
Growing deeper in your relationship with the Lord and ask Him to make you into the godly woman and disciple of Christ He wants you to be! You have abundant time with the Lord to pray; study, love, and apply God’s Word to Word to your life; and grow in the fruit of the Spirit.
Lots of personal, healing, growth, and investing in yourself spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, relationally, and financially.
Getting to know YOU. Learn about yourself and do some deep self-discovery about who you are, what you like and dislike; who and what you want in life, and in your future husband.
