. Holistic (Mind, Body, & Soul) Wellness Guide

*I will eventually be making these into mini journals, but email me at britani.anthony@gmail.com for a copy you can print out and write on.*

The purpose of this Holistic Wellness Guide is to help you grow in godliness, self: love, confidence, respect, esteem, awareness, and to discover more deeply who you are as a woman made in God’s image with His very own loving hands.

You have been chosen by the Father, redeemed by the blood of Christ, and indwelt by Holy Spirit. I pray that these sections below will aid in your overall well-being and growth in Christ, life, and with others as you navigate this world.

*There will be overlap for a lot of these sections.*

***You don’t have to do these sections in order, but do read through them to get a feel for what you will need to think about before answering.***

”When you know yourself, you’ll make much better choices.”

1) WHO IS GOD?

    a) Go to scripture and write out His characteristics, who you know Him to be, and give examples of when you have seen His character very clearly in your life.

b) What do you always want to remember about Him?

2) Think about the past season you were in.

Describe it (time frame/dates, length, what happened, etc. if possible/necessary). What did God teach and show you? What was plowed, planted, produced, and pruned in that time in you?

3) Think about this current season you are in.

What is God teaching and showing you now? What is God plowing, planting, producing, and pruning in you?

4) Where do you want to be in the next season? What do you want to see happen in your life?

5) LETTING GO(D)

What are you letting go of and giving to God?

6) PURPOSE. IDENTITY, MISSION/CALLING. VISION FOR LIFE, PASSIONS:

a) PURPOSE

Everyone talks about “finding your purpose”, but every human’s purpose is the same: to know and love God, make Him known, and glorify Him with your life, gifts, talents, skills, and passions He has given to you. This will never change no matter what temporary career you have, season of life you are in, or what God has you doing at the moment. How you specifically carry this out will vary throughout life. The main thing is that you are: submitting to the Father, shining your light for Christ, and being led by Holy Spirit wherever you are at all times. Feel free to add more below!:

b) IDENTITY

1. Who were you before you came to Christ?

2. How did you define yourself before you became a Christian?

3. How has that changed since becoming a Christian?

4. Who are you now in Christ?

5. What does that mean?

6. How are you growing into the person God has called you to be?

7. What do you always want to remember about yourself?

c) PASSIONS

What are you passionate about? Why? Where did your passions come from/start?

d) KINGDOM MISSION/CALLING

What are you called to do for God? What is your mission in life and how are you *specifically* using your gifts, talents, skills, and passions for the kingdom? This can be temporary and change throughout your life. Keep in mind that you can also have multiple missions/callings at the same time! You could be called to the mission field for 20 years and then to be a teacher and then minister to the elderly. You will know when God calls you to it: missionary, therapist, educator, bible teacher, evangelist, nanny, business exec, entrepreneur, musician, attorney, nurse, doctor, wife, mother, community servant, etc. You can also have multiple missions at the same time!! When you live out your life's mission, you will bring glory to God and good to others. You can learn more about your life mission and how to accomplish it by rooting yourself in God’s Word, hearing from Holy Spirit, and growing in a deeper relationship with Him. As you get to know God more intimately, your purpose and mission will become clear in your heart and mind.

e) SEASONAL CAREER ASSIGNMENT

Everything is seasonal because we will all eventually leave this earth. Only what’s done for Christ will last. What are you currently doing to monetarily support yourself and/or others? Why are you doing it? What is difficult about it? What do you enjoy about it? How is God using you there? Do you want to switch careers? If so, to what, why, and when? What are your goals while you are temporarily there? (Your mission and career assignment *could* be the same. I’m a nanny for now and it is *a* ministry and my current career assignment, but this isn’t what I want to do long-term nor is it my kingdom calling/mission.)

f) VISION

(Be as specific as you want to be!)

1. What do you want in life?

2. What is your vision for your life/what do you pray your future looks like?

3. Why?

4. How do you plan to get there?

7) SPIRITUAL GIFTS

Here's a test you can take if you don't know what some of your spiritual gifts are:  https://mintools.com/gifts-list.htm. Write them below and how you currently use them and want to use them for the kingdom.

8) GIFTS, TALENTS, SKILLS, PASSIONS

What other gifts, talents, skills, and passions has God given you and how are you currently using/can you use them for the Kingdom?

9) CORE VALUES

What are your personal core values? Why are they important to you? (https://business.tutsplus.com/tutorials/what-are-personal-values--cms-31561)

10) LIFE MOTTO

“Short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution”. Create your own life motto here!

11) WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE?

A. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY?

   Go crazy with this one!!!

B. CHARACTER STRENGTHS

Next to each letter, write some adjectives that describe you. Go crazy with this! God has made you into a new creation and in Him, you are amazing!

Before this next section, please read the following article:

http://bradhambrick.com/we-are-equally-sinful-we-are-not-all-equally-broken-or-toxic/

This will help you determine what is sin (as a result of your own rebellion that you’re completely responsible for), what is brokenness (something that happened to you that you’re not responsible for), and what is toxic (unrepentant sin and open rebellion to God). It’s important to distinguish these things so that they can effectively be navigated through and dealt with accordingly.

Half of the battle is being self-aware and spiritually mature enough to recognize your sins and shortcomings and take action to repent and grow.

C. SIN STRUGGLES

Write down the sins you know you still wage war against. Sin is anything that breaks God’s law and dishonors Him. All sin is an offense before the Lord, but not all sin is a result of mere rebellion against God. There may be roots of brokenness (things that you don’t bear moral responsibility for) underneath the sin that need to be addressed. Sin can be things like: rude thoughts and comments towards people, idolatry, sexual sins (lustful thoughts, masturbation, pornography, same-sex desires/attraction/acts, fornication, etc.), anger issues, envy of what others have, unrighteous judging, etc.) that you need to continue to repent of, put off (Colossians 3:1-10) then put the opposite on, and ask God for help with how you can specifically grow in repentance.

What are your sin struggles? Ask God to reveal any sin struggles that you may not be aware of as well. Write them all down. Next to each one, answer these questions: What is the definition of this sin? What are the roots of this sin?/Where did it come from? What does God say about this sin and how should you view it? (Find scripture if applicable or apply a general biblical truth/principle to it.) What are some spiritual ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this sin? What are some practical ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this sin? Find scripture and write out any other truths to help remind you of these things. Include Scripture, a plan of action, and accountability if necessary. Remember to never be afraid to ask Holy Spirit for wisdom and help with killing sin and putting your flesh to death so that He may be glorified.

D. ARE YOU A TOXIC PERSON? http://bradhambrick.com/we-are-equally-sinful-we-are-not-all-equally-broken-or-toxic/

https://hackspirit.com/am-i-toxic/#:~:text=A%20toxic%20person%20is%20someone,%2C%20emotionally%20drained%2C%20and%20negative.

There is a CLEAR and HUGE difference between someone who is truly born again and still has indwelling sin that they are fighting against as all true Believers are (Romans 8:12-17), and a person who is completely persistent in unrepentant patterns of sinful behavior (Galatians 5:17; 19-21). Is this you? Are you self-aware enough to recognize if you are toxic? Are you living your life for Jesus or for yourself? Are you walking in righteousness and the fruit of the spirit or unrighteousness and the works of your flesh? Are you a rebel who loves your sin? Are you in denial of this? Is anyone’s correction of your sinful behavior an offense to you? Do you purposely surround yourself with people who will not correct or challenge you? Do you deceive yourself by thinking you are a Christian, yet you justify sinful behavior and how you treat others?

Really take some time to self-reflect and ask yourself if you are a toxic person, how God wants you to respond, and what are some effective steps you can take to repent of your toxic/unrepentantly sinful beliefs and behaviors.

E. WEAKNESSES

“Character weaknesses are aspects of an individual's personality and repeated behavior that have a negative impact.” These *are a result of our brokenness because of the fall and not necessarily merely our own rebellion against God*, but things like timidity, recklessness, overthinking, passivity, bluntness, etc. What are your weaknesses? Ask God to reveal any weaknesses that you may not be aware of. Write them down. Next to each one, answer these questions: What is the definition of this weakness? What are the roots of this weakness?/Where did it come from? What does God say about this weakness and how should I view it? (Find scripture if applicable or apply a general biblical truth to it.) What are some spiritual ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this weakness? What are some practical ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this weakness? Find scripture and write out any other truths to help remind you of these things. Include Scripture, a plan of action, and accountability if necessary. Remember to never be afraid to ask Holy Spirit for wisdom and help in your walk with Him.

F. FEARS

(“Fear involves uncertainty about what could happen as a result of a perceived threat.” These *are a result of our brokenness because of the fall and not necessarily our own rebellion against God*, but things like fear of the unknown, never getting married, not finding a job, not having children, loved ones dying, not finding your mission/calling in life, the state of the world, etc. What are your fears? Ask God to reveal any fears that you may not be aware of. Write them down. Next to each one, answer these questions: What is the definition of this weakness? What are the roots of this weakness?/Where did it come from? What does God say about this fear and how I should view it? (Find scripture if applicable or apply a general biblical truth to it.) What are some spiritual ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this fear? What are some practical ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this fear? Find scripture and write out any other truths to help remind you of these things. Include Scripture, a plan of action, and accountability if necessary. Remember to never be afraid to ask Holy Spirit for wisdom and help in your walk with Him.)

G. INSECURITIES & LIES ABOUT YOURSELF

(“Insecurity reflects uncertainty about yourself and your capabilities.” These *are a result of our brokenness because of the fall and not necessarily our own rebellion against God*, but things like: blaming yourself for everything, saying “I’m sorry” all the time, low self-esteem, negative body image, negative self-talk, envy of someone else, believing you’re not smart, etc. What are your insecurities? Ask God to reveal any insecurities you may not be aware of. Write them down. Ask God to reveal any other insecurities you may not be aware of. Next to each one, answer these questions: What is the definition of this insecurity? What are the roots of this insecurity?/Where did it come from? What does God say about this insecurity and how I should view it? (Find scripture if applicable or apply a general biblical truth to it.) What are some spiritual ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this insecurity? What are some practical ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this insecurity? Find scripture and write out any other truths to help remind you of these things. Include Scripture, a plan of action, and accountability if necessary. Remember to never be afraid to ask Holy Spirit for wisdom and help in your walk with Him.)

H. BAD HABITS

(“A bad habit is a negative behavior pattern.” *Some of these are a result of our brokenness because of the fall and some are because of our own rebellion against God.* These are things like: binge-watching netflix, not getting enough rest, emotional eating, overspending, procrastination, etc. What are your bad habits? Write them down. Next to each one, answer these questions: What is the definition of this bad habit? What are the roots of this bad habit?/Where did it come from? What does God say about this bad habit and how I should view it? (Find scripture if applicable or apply a general biblical truth to it.) What are some spiritual ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this bad habit? What are some practical ways I am growing and can continue to grow out of/overcome this bad habit? Find scripture and write out any other truths to help remind you of these things.)

I. In what ways are you particular?

J. PET PEEVES

12) HOLISTIC SELF (MIND, BODY, SOUL) CARE

In each section below, write out the ways that you are *currently* caring for your mind, body, soul, emotions, and relationships. Then write out how you *want* to improve in each area.
